Kolber was born in Pennsylvania graduated with a master's degree from the University of Miami. Her professional journey began as a video producer at CBS Sports in New York City. She was awarded the Sports Emmy in Miami during her tenure working at WTVJ-TV. She also served as a reporter for WPLG-TV Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. When ESPN2 began to be introduced that year she became one of the anchors who first joined it. She was with ESPN2 from 1993 until 1999, before joining Fox Sports. Her return to ESPN as a host in 1999.
